WHITE FORGED CARBON · BLACK CARBON BEZEL · STAR EMBLEM · AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH
A White Case That Shows Its Layers
Fine dark lines run along the flanks, straight and even, where the layers of the carbon meet.
Most white watches are white on the surface: paint or a coating over something else, and a hard knock on a corner shows what is underneath.
This case is white forged carbon, white through the material. It is built up in layers, and where the case is cut across them the edges surface as thin dark lines. Along the flanks they run fine and parallel, like the contour lines on a map; over the lugs, where the case curves, they bend and spread. The lines on your case will fall differently from the ones in the photographs.
The bezel is the only dark part of the case: black forged carbon marbled in grey, with the tachymeter scale printed in white. The crown and both pushers are polished steel. At about 51 grams for the whole watch, it weighs roughly what an egg does.

THE DIAL
The Star At Six Stands Off The Weave
A woven carbon-fibre dial with dashboard counters, and one emblem in polished steel.
The dial is woven carbon fibre, a black chequerboard that runs across the whole face, under the counters as well. Next to the white case it reads darker than anything else on the watch.
Two of the counters are drawn as a car's instruments. At nine, a fuel gauge marked km/h, with a small yellow pump symbol at its base. At three, a rev counter marked x1000/min, with one word of its small print in bright blue. Each sits inside a raised polished steel ring.
The counter at six has no numbers and no strokes. It holds a polished steel three-pointed star in a thin ring, and the star catches light the print around it cannot. The hour markers are applied steel with white lume, pointed at their inner end, and a small pale blue-grey square marks each hour on the minute track.
How The Star Dial Comes Together
A woven dial, two gauges and a steel star, fitted inside a white carbon case.
The Weave
The dial is faced in woven carbon fibre. The chequerboard has to sit square to twelve, or every marker would look crooked against it.
The Minute Track
A black minute track goes round the edge with fine white strokes, and a small pale blue-grey square at every hour.
Two Gauges
The counter at nine is printed as a fuel gauge, yellow pump symbol included, and the one at three as a rev counter. Each is ringed in raised polished steel.
The Star
The polished steel star is set in its thin ring at six, with nothing printed around it.
Into The White Case
The lumed steel markers and hands go on, and the dial is fitted into the white carbon case under the black bezel, with the automatic chronograph movement behind it.

Why It Stands Out In White
White carbon has to be white from the first layer, because nothing is sprayed over it afterwards. Put it round a woven carbon-fibre dial and a polished steel star, and the black of the dial has something to stand against. It asks $949.
THE WHITE STAR SPEC
40 mm white forged carbon case, black carbon bezel, woven carbon-fibre dial with a fuel gauge, a rev counter and a steel star, white canvas strap. Inspected by hand, boxed for presentation, and covered for two years.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the white case painted?
Is the white case painted?
No. It is white forged carbon, white through the material. Look along the side and you will see thin dark lines following the case, the edges of its layers. Paint would cover them.
Why is the bezel black?
Why is the bezel black?
To frame the dial. A black forged-carbon bezel between the white case and the black carbon-fibre dial draws a hard dark ring round the face, so the dial reads as the centre of the watch.
Is the star printed on the dial?
Is the star printed on the dial?
No. It is polished steel, set in a thin ring in the counter at six. That counter carries no numbers or strokes, only the star.
What are the counters at three and nine?
What are the counters at three and nine?
A rev counter at three, marked x1000/min, and a fuel gauge at nine, marked km/h with a small yellow pump symbol. The pushers beside the crown start, stop and reset the central chronograph hand.
How heavy is it?

Does it come in other versions?

Yes. The same star dial comes in a black forged-carbon case, and this white case also comes with a glossy black dial ringed in rainbow colours and a winged emblem.
Does it need a battery?
Does it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — it winds from the motion of your wrist. Left off for a couple of days it stops, and a minute back on the wrist restarts it.
