40.8MM WHITE FORGED CARBON · BLACK CARBON BEZEL · AUTOMATIC
White Right Through. Not A Coat Of Paint.
The colour is the material, so there is nothing on the surface to chip away.
A painted or coated white case looks spotless on the first day. Then the corners of the lugs and the edge of the case start taking the knocks, and whatever sits underneath begins to show through.
This case is white forged carbon, CNC-cut from one piece, so the white is the material itself. You can see it on the flanks: thin grey-black lines run along the curve of the case, the edges of the layers it was cut from. A coat of paint would have covered them.
There is no surface layer here to flake or wear through. Carbon is highly resistant to impact, too — its one real dislike is a sharp knock against a hard edge.

THE BEZEL AND THE DIAL
A Black Frame Around A White Face
Marbled black carbon on top of a white case, with blue picked out on the dial.
The bezel is the one black part of the case: forged carbon, rounded at the corners, marbled with grey swirls like the rings on a contour map. Set on a white case, it does what a dark mount does for a photograph — it pulls the eye to what is inside.
Inside is a matte white dial embossed with a globe grid, horizontal bands crossed by lines that bow outward like meridians. The hours are raised matte black numerals, and there is no 3 — the date window takes its place, framed in black, showing a black date on a white disc.
Blue is kept to a handful of places: hollow blue squares at each hour on the outer track, a narrow blue rectangle beside the date, the lettering, and a slim blue seconds hand with a blue centre disc. The hour and minute hands are black-framed and filled with white luminous paint.
How A White Carbon Case Gets Its Lines
The white goes in before anything is cut, and the lines on the side show how.
White Built In Layers
The case starts as white carbon material built up layer on layer, with a fine dark line wherever one layer meets the next.
Pressed Into A Block
Heat and pressure cure the layers into one solid piece. From here on the colour cannot be changed, because it is part of the block.
Cut Across The Layers
The case is CNC-cut from the block. As the cutter follows the rounded flanks and lugs it crosses the layers at an angle, and their edges surface as thin lines tracing the curves.
The Black Bezel
The bezel is cut from black forged carbon, its fibres cured into grey swirls. It is the only dark part of the case, and it sits on top of the white.
Dial, Hands, Strap
The white globe-grid dial goes in with its black numerals and blue markers, then the hands, then the white rubber strap on its black folding clasp. Complete, the watch weighs 73.8 grams.

Why The White Is Worth Having
A case that is white all the way through has to start as white material, be pressed and cured, and then be cut from solid. It cannot be finished with a spray gun at the end, which makes it the long way to build a white watch. This one comes checked and boxed, for $999.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the white case painted?
Is the white case painted?
No. It is white forged carbon, cut from one piece, so the colour belongs to the material. Look along the side of the case and you will see thin grey-black lines following its curve — the edges of the layers. Paint would hide them.
Will the white chip at the corners?
Will the white chip at the corners?
There is no coat on the surface to chip off. Carbon also takes impact well; the one thing to avoid is a sharp blow on a hard edge.
Why is the bezel black?
Why is the bezel black?
To frame the dial. The bezel is black forged carbon marbled with grey swirls, and against the white case it draws a dark ring round the white face, so the black numerals and blue markers stand out clearly.
Where is the 3 on the dial?
Where is the 3 on the dial?
There isn't one. The date window sits at three o'clock, framed in black, with a narrow hollow blue marker just outside it. Every other hour has its own raised black numeral.
How do I keep the white clean?
How do I keep the white clean?
Wipe the case and the white rubber strap with a soft, damp cloth, then dry them. There is no coating on the carbon to protect, so ordinary care is all it asks.
How heavy is it?
How heavy is it?
73.8 grams on the scale with the strap and clasp on. At 8.1 mm thick, it sits low and settled on the wrist.
Does it need a battery?
Does it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — it winds from the motion of your wrist. Left off for a couple of days it stops, and a minute back on the wrist restarts it.
How long does delivery take?
